Can one call change your life?
Inside THE CANA MYSTERY by David Beckett, Ava Fischer has a friend working in Yemen, but he calls to leave her a cryptic message. He needs her help and expertise, but what she encounters is a maze of threats, murder, and fear!
When Paul Grant leaves Ava the message, the discovery they have found is unbelievable, but it is real. Meanwhile, there’s more to his wanting to see her than needing her skills and knowledge, but this second reason wasn’t taking the lead. Out in the desert sands, they really did need her knowledge and her abilities, and her coming would naturally take care of the second reason too. Everything was going well once she accepted the invitation peppered with payment too. Well, it would’ve happened as planned until gunshots sounded and people died.
Stealing wasn’t in his mind while staying safe, getting away from a murderer, and making it far away from the scene was the real deal. The problem was that Ava was already on her way, and he couldn’t stop it. He could not show up, and she’d go safely home.
Unfortunately, Ava arrived at the airport and found a man waiting for her. It wasn’t Paul, but she couldn’t be sure if he was friend or foe. Her friend would have told her if someone would be here instead of him so she took matters into her own hands.
Ava left the airport and contacted a friend back in the states.
She was worried, but Paul was known to get too involved with his projects so it could have been he just forgot to meet her. It could have been that the man who followed her didn’t mean harm the way she thought. Not probable but it was possible, really.
Gabe locates Paul using not-so-aboveboard technological means, but his phone is without service and without her shadow, she was well on her way to making good money and seeing someone she’d been missing.
What she doesn’t expect are lies, danger, and murder!
***This opinion is my own.***
Paul Grant is aware that working for Simon DeMaj has its downsides and problems, but this project held his interest plus as it turns out, this find surprised everyone.
To uncover what they actually came for isn’t something expected in most archaeological undertakings, but to find something that can literally change the world and the end days is beyond comprehension. These relics contain a secret from the past that was left on this earth by Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile, Ava Fischer is the one who can help them find out if there is a prophecy, but she’s also Paul’s former girlfriend who still very much holds his heart.
Paul has never perceived these things to be dangerous, and he contacts Ava.
Her acceptance doesn’t trouble his soul until seven people are shot right in front of him. Paul races out of the area, but he knows he can’t contact her. He would never just leave her in a foreign country and doing this would put the finishing touches on the end of their friendship. But he will do it to keep her safe and get her back home.
Ava Fischer, however, wonders if these men have unearthed false or planted relics. How will all of this affect her reputation?
She will not be too quick to count them as real and lacks the facilities needed for dating such things, but upon seeing the amazing finds, Ava isn’t doubting much anymore.
Her mind fails her as she is unable to discover what the lost jars of Cana are holding that will change the world. However, she knows they must be holding onto something since they’ve been searched out, shot at, and lured into deadly circumstances.
So far away from the States, who can they trust in their trek through Yemen, Egypt, Malta, and Rome to stay alive and unlock the secrets?
An odd juxtaposition comes alive as the history of the Papacy and the history of the Catholic Church comes against a contemporary church crisis unfolding when Pope Benedict XVI resigns!
